In order to do this, you need to label your columns appropriately in Excel. You can find the appropriate labels by looking up the Generic Reference Type in Endnote's help. You also need to make sure that your labels are in the first row of each column. There should be no empty rows between the labels and the data. You need to make sure that the first column is empty, except for, in the top label row, it needs to say Reference Type.
Save the Excel file as tab-delimited text. Excel will make all sorts of complaints, but do it anyway. Save the file with the extension .txt. Open this with a plain text editor and do a find and replace for double quotes to remove them all.
Now import the file into Endnote.

Terms and Conditions
No, Apple, I do not agree to your ridiculous terms and conditions for the use of iTunes.
But I have clicked the button that "says" I agree, because otherwise your software won't work. Those are my terms.

Microsoft Update
This morning my computer updated itself, courtesy of Microsoft. When it had finished, it forced me to download and encouraged me to run a special little program. When I did, it told me I could upgrade my computer by spending a mere 150 bucks on a Microsoft product.
Gee thanks. When I buy a TV, I don't expect it to interrupt my viewing to make me view commercials about the manufacturer. I don't expect my toaster to occasionally pop up toast with a message saying I need to buy a new toaster from Philips burned into it.
I know I choose to run Microsoft's OS (although the choice is far from free), but this is my computer, and my time they're wasting. Why is it okay to do it?
I have to go and make a pickup in Dollis Hill now, see you later.
